Review of: Alter do Chão FLONA Jamaraquá Tour
Getting to know a well-preserved Amazon forest was a dream come true with Karlos and his crew. Top-notch service from booking the short trip to the end of the activity. First, Selvagem tours is punctual. We started the trip at the time previously set, unlike many other tour companies in Brazil.
Second, the small ship we took was a very comfortable and safe one, a much different experience when compared to the speedboats available from other tour companies.
Third, the whole experience was very well organized as far as timing was concerned. There was well allotted time for each activity, giving us time to enjoy everything without rushing.
Also, everything written on the site is also true. From the availability of “caipirinhas” onboard to the beauty we see on our walk on the Flona. The pricing is also absolutely fair. There was a little glitch on my credit card and Karlos was superb getting it all solved ASAP.
In other words, unforgettable experience with a very competent and reliable crew. Definitely do it again when I bring my parents to Alter do Chão.

The most awesome way to visit Alter de Chao!
A friend and I stumbled upon Selvagem Tours by chance and we thought it was just going to be an average boat trip. It turns out that not only Karlos is an amazing host who makes you feel totally welcome from the moment you set foot on his boat (you can tell it's not just a boat but his home you are entering), he is also extremely knowledgeable and totally accommodating to your needs.
Unlike other tour operators you can entirely customize your trip when travelling with him. He takes great pride in listening to what it is you would like out of your trip and organize it accordingly.
Totally recommended! Enjoyed it thoroughly. Too bad we only did day trips. Totally worth your while to sleep on board and go on longer trips. No better way to explore the area!

Best trips ever in Brazil! Definitely recommend especially for foreigner travelers
I did one day tour around Alter do Chão snd 2 days tour in FLONA with Karlos which I had opportunity to sleep in jungle.
The experience was absolutely amazing!
Karlos speaks very good English, and is the most responsible and knowledge guide I have never met. he arranged airport pick-up, tour us around the best attractions around Alter do Chão (drinks and fruits are also always provided on the boat)!
We did everything I expected for Amazonia from forest canoeing to swimming by deserted beach to jungle trekking, we even spend one night in the jungle. Very holistic experience.
As a tourist that does not speak Portuguese, it’s very safe and easy to travel with Karlos. Absolutely recommend especially for foreigners, this will definitely save you lots of effort struggling with quality of safety of local tour.
* if go to FLONA, ask for Frank as local guide, he is the only English speaking guide in Jamaraqua and it’s an absolutely pleasure to be around with.

Boat Tour - Day Trip Alto do Chao to Santarem via boat
One of our best trips ever! Communication with Karlos was professional, speedy and clear. Punctual pick-up in Santarem, then a bus ride to Alter da Chao where we boarded the wonderful wooden boat. A very friendly crew spoiled us the whole day with fresh fruit and fresh Caipirinhas and drinks. We could really experience the Amazon River, as Karlos gave us a lot of information and showed us the beauty of the area. An absolute fantastic day! Thank you Karlos and Crew!

Great experience
Me and my family spent a day with Karlos riding his speed boat to the most beautiful places along the Tapajos river. He is very professional and made us understand so much about the nature. During the ride we stopped to bath in a amazing beach where he served pic-nick with tropical fruits. We had a great time and learn so much about the Amazon. I definitely recommend to anyone who wants to really get to know the Amazon region.
